About
My practice is to create paintings that bring others as much delight as the subjects and processes of painting bring me. I consider myself to be an emerging artist, still learning and experimenting with painting techniques that convey what I see, feel, and experience in everyday life.
I began consistent painting practice and learning in 2021 and I continue to seek out learning opportunities that will build my skills. Although I have a demanding full time job, I try to devote up to 4-hours each day painting, thinking, learning and/or experimenting with art.
I carry the key learning from the following courses, hosted by Bienarte Art School, through paintings that explore specific techniques and subjects:

-
Foundations in Oils with Ros Danke and Ai Shah (2021)
-
Shallow water workshop with Marcel Desbiens (2021)
-
Luminous Florals with Marcel Desbiens (2021)
-

-
Creating texture in Landscapes with Marcel Desbiens (2022)
-

-

-

-

In 2022, I became a tutor under Bienarté Director and Master Artist Marcel Desbiens in the Foundations in Oils course. Four of my pieces completed in 2022 were included in my first group exhibition at the Latrobe Gallery in Brisbane, We are Bienarté - An Aesthetic Synergy - Collected works from the team at Bienarté Art Studio. The theme across my four pieces was 'Lessons Learned: Building on the Foundations'. A play on the title of the Foundations in Oils course, these pieces demonstrate my journey from student to tutor and practicing artist.

I sold my first painting in 2022 through the Lethbridge Gallery Salon des Refuses ('L is for Lemon', Acrylic on canvas, 30 x 30 cm) in the Gallery's Small Scale Art Award.

I have since completed several pieces which now live with art lovers across Australia and the UK.
I am exploring portraiture, figurative art and landscape in 2024.
